San Diego Fleet - Week 2

By Joe Nelson

The San Diego Fleet held their inaugural home game Sunday evening, and despite the heavy rain, they managed to weather the storm and finish strong, beating the Atlanta Legends 24-12, evening their record to 1-1 on the early season.

The parking lot was alive hours before game time. It would mark the first professional football game held at (now) SDCCU Stadium since the San Diego Chargers left for Los Angeles two years ago. It was clear that move left a void with pro football fans.

The Mighty 1090's Scott Kaplan was in C-2, tailgating and doing a Podcast from the Cali Comfort tent.

Fans were slinging the football and grilling their favorite foods, despite the impending showers, everyone seemed to be having a great time at the stadium again.

Here are some sights and sounds before game time.
