IHEARTMEDIA SAN DIEGO RAISES $263,837 FOR RADY CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL

San Diego, Calif. – iHeartMedia San Diego’s seven radio stations participated in the First Annual iHeart Rady Children’s Give A Thon in partnership with Rady Children’s Hospital - San Diego on December 12 and 13, 2018.

KGB-FM; KHTS-FM; KIOZ-FM: KLSD-AM; KMYI-FM; KOGO-AM; and KSSX-FM broadcasted live from the hospital each day of the Give A Thon between 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. During the broadcasts, station personalities interviewed former patients, physicians, and the parents and families of patients currently being treated at the hospital, who shared their stories and experiences with station listeners.

Over the course of the two-day Give A Thon, $263,837 in donations was raised by iHeartRadio San Diego station listeners who made their contributions via phone, text and an online portal. Many listener donations were matched by local businesses, families and individuals. “The generosity of our listeners will help ensure that every child gets the best care possible, right here in our community,” said Rob Scorpio, Senior Vice President of Programming iHeartRadio San Diego / Riverside.

Donations made to Rady Children’s Hospital help fund lifesaving technology and research, provide a safety net for children with little or no private medical insurance and create a healing environment for patients and their families.
