NEWSCAST PRODUCER (WEEKENDS) *NEW

KFMB Stations is searching for an exceptional producer for our #1 rated weekend newscasts. This position will also work as an Associate Producer on three weekday evening shifts and may work on both our CBS News 8 and CW newscasts. We are looking for someone with impeccable news judgment along with strong writing and leadership skills. Candidates must be able to produce fast-paced newscasts, handle breaking news, produce for multiple platforms and integrate social media into their newscasts. Prior producing experience is required. A degree in broadcast Journalism or Communications as well as knowledge of San Diego is preferred.

KFMB STATIONS

ASSISTANT PROGRAM DIRECTOR/ON-AIR TALENT *NEW

San Diego’s radio station, 100.7 KFM-BFM, is searching for an experienced Assistant Program Director/On-Air talent that can assist and work with the Program Director to execute daily tasks related to station programming and operations as well as perform a daily on-air shift. Position will act as a liaison between Programming and other station departments and will serve as a back-up to the Program Director and other on-air staff, as necessary. Additional responsibilities will include assistance with the scheduling and editing of daily music logs; collaboration with the Program Director and Creative Services Director on the writing of station imaging/promos; and coordination of weekly on-air schedules as well as the scheduling of image production/promos, as needed. Candidates must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and must have a complete understanding of how to communicate effectively through Social Media. We are looking for someone that is a passionate rock-n-roll fan with broad music knowledge and that can authentically deliver that passion on the air! KFMB STATIONS

ACCOUNT EXECUTIVES (RADIO SALES)

KFMB Stations is searching for an advertising radio sales Account Executive for our AM News Talk station (760 KFMB-AM). We are looking for candidates that are familiar with the format of the station as well as the lifestyle of 760 KFMB-AM listeners and that can consistently develop successful new business marketing campaigns both “on-air” and “on-line” (www.760kfmb.com). This position will be required to create and maintain strong relationships with clients, attend client/station promotional events and ensure daily prospecting and excellent closing skills to achieve monthly revenue goals. Additionally, this position requires the ability to successfully complete efficient “client needs analysis” interviews, craft effective proposals and client correspondence, present information to and interface with clients, as well as collect payment from clients. We can provide some one-on-one coaching and/or industry training; however, a minimum 3 years’ proven successful “sales experience” is required. Candidates must possess a current valid driver's license and can provide proof of current automobile insurance.

ASSOCIATE PRODUCER

KFMB Stations (the CBS and CW affiliates in San Diego) is s searching for an Associate Producer. Primary responsibilities include writing, line producing, posting and updating web stories, and building on-air graphics. Previous experience writing for broadcast news is required. Previous experience line producing, as well as experience working with VIZrt graphics system and ENPS is preferred. A degree in Journalism or Communications is also preferred.

DIGITAL CONTENT EDITOR

The KFMB Stations Interactive Department is looking for a full-time digital editor who will support the content and social media efforts across all properties for the KFMB Stations, including CBS 8 (KFMB-TV), The CW San Diego, and two radio stations (100.7 KFM-BFM and 760 KFMB-AM) in San Diego. This position requires the ability to react and disseminate breaking news quickly. Candidates must possess solid news judgment, writing and organizational skills and have the ability to handle multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. Job duties include maintaining and updating our station's digital platforms and mobile presence, editing television scripts and wire copy for digital publication, editing video and images and managing live streaming video. This position has a strong focus on building the KFMB Station’s social media outlets and candidates must have experience writing content for social platforms. Candidates should also have experience with a content management system and be able to build and maintain relationships with producers and reporters in the newsroom. Position will require work on holidays and will be required to assist with coverage during staff vacations. A college degree in journalism or similar field is preferred

DIGITAL PROJECT COORDINATOR

KFMB Stations is seeking a Digital Project Coordinator for the Interactive team to lead efforts for digital sales projects across all properties for the KFMB Stations, which includes two TV stations (CBS 8 and CW) and our two radio stations (100.7 KFM-BFM and 760 KFMB-AM) in San Diego. Position will report to the Digital Sales Manager and will be responsible for coordinating the creation and implementation of digital ad campaigns (email, video and display) across all of the digital platforms including desktop, mobile and applications. Job duties will include working closely with the sales team, gathering digital assets, developing creative messaging, developing new digital products and promotions, monitoring existing campaigns for delivery, providing comprehensive campaign reports, as well as supporting the overall digital efforts for the KFMB Stations. Candidates must be organized, detail-oriented, and have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience supporting digital sales is preferred.

IT SUPPORT/HELP DESK SUPPORT

KFMB Stations is looking for an experienced on-site technical support person to assist with system setup, installation and configuration as well as issues relating to client/server hardware, software, networking/cabling infrastructure, email and phone systems. Position requires the ability to trouble-shoot and resolve and the ability to read and interpret procedural manuals. We are looking for candidates that have previous experience (1-2 years of previous technical support experience required) in a desktop support role with excellent problem solving and analytical skills as well as strong verbal and written communication skills. Position will be required to log and document support/resolution e-tickets and will also be required to assist in other areas throughout the building, including but not limited to facilities and engineering. This is a supervised position; however, we are looking for someone that can prioritize and work independently with minimal supervision. Candidates must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. and be able to work alternate shifts, including the ability to provide weekend or emergency support on an as needed basis.

MULTI-MEDIA JOURNALIST

PROMOTIONS COORDINATOR (TELEVISION) *PART-TIME

KFMB Stations is searching for a highly organized and detail-oriented person to fill a part-time, Monday-Friday position in the television promotions department. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the strategic placement of promotion and PSAs on daily logs for up to three television stations; tagging of syndicated and affiliate promotions; and keeping up with program scheduling so that the proper promotion airs for the correct program. Additional duties may be assigned, as needed, as they pertain to the efficient flow of the Station’s marketing and/or promotion needs. Experience with non-linear editing (preferably Adobe Premiere) and Wide Orbit or other television trafficking software is required.

SALES SUPPORT COORDINATOR (TV SALES)

KFMB Stations is searching for a Sales Support Coordinator for Local and/or National TV Sales for our television properties (CBS 8, CW, and/or MeTV). These positions will provide support to the Director of Sales, Sales Managers, Sales Support Lead, Account Managers and/or others within KFMB Station’s TV Sales department. Sales Coordinators will act as liaison between KFMB Stations, Account Executives and our national rep firm(s) and will cross-train to ensure support for both Local and National Sales and/or to help with research projects, as needed. Primary job responsibilities will include: Preparing sales collateral and presentations; Handling order input/revisions, posting, make-goods and pre/post logs; Answering phone/e-mail inquiries; Assisting with program changes and pulling spot placements/invoices; Researching and resolving discrepancies and preparing credits/adjustments; Coordinating credit for advertisers; and Preparing or distributing reports; and other duties as assigned. Candidates must possess exceptional customer service skills, be extremely detail-oriented, possess solid communication and organization skills and must be capable of prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment. Position requires computer literacy with a proficiency in Wide Orbit, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. College degree and a minimum of 2 years’ previous sales support assistance experience is required. Previous TV sales experience is preferred. Knowledge of Efficio and Medialine is desired.

TELEVISION PROMOTIONS WRITER/EDITOR/PRODUCER

KFMB Stations, the CBS & CW affiliates in America’s Finest City--San Diego, is looking for a highly-creative and highly-motivated Writer/Editor/Producer who will conceptualize, write, produce, shoot and edit compelling on-air promos from start to finish that will generate viewer interest to increase the brand awareness and ratings for all multi-platforms. This includes daily news topicals, image spots, POPs for all platforms - broadcast and digital. Additional responsibilities include: Organizing, overseeing and executing daily topicals from concept through delivery; Hands-on editing; Contributing to brainstorming sessions; and assisting the promotions department in other duties, as needed. The ability to write effective, compelling, and audience-building promotional copy is a MUST and candidates must have a working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and knowledge of production process. Proficiency in videography and lighting is a plus. We are looking for someone that can work well under tight deadlines and use logic to solve problems and foresee and avoid obstacles along the way. A bachelor’s Degree or some college preferred or equivalent work experience is required. 3 years’ previous television Writer/Producer experience is preferred. Experience with Adobe applications such as Premiere, Photoshop and After Effects is a plus.

VIDEO EDITOR

KFMB Stations in San Diego is looking for an editor to work for our CBS and CW affiliates. Responsibilities primarily include editing clips in our non-linear computer editing system; however, this position may also be required to do some news writing. Prior knowledge of ENPS newsroom software and prior news writing experience is a plus. College degree in journalism, communications or related major is preferred.

KFMB RADIO

PROMOTIONS ASSISTANTS (Part-Time)

We are searching for part-time Promotions Assistants for San Diego’s new radio station, 100.7 KFM-BFM and our Talk Radio station, 760 KFMB-AM. Note: position may also be able to work promotional events for 3 additional stations, (91X, Z90 and Magic 92.5). We are looking for enthusiastic and energetic individuals who can work flexible hours, including the ability to work weekends and occasional holidays. Position requires the ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and can drive to/from remote locations. KFMB STATIONS INTERNSHIPS:

KFMB Stations- CBS News 8


CBS News 8’s internship program is intended to assist students who are interested in pursuing a career in the broadcasting industry. Internships will provide students with an opportunity to learn about television broadcasting as well as hands-on experience in the newsroom. Selected candidates will work closely with producers and will assist with various functions such as researching story ideas, writing scripts, retrieving video and working in the control room to bring the news to our viewers. We are looking for interns who are committed to a career in broadcasting and have already completed some prior journalism courses. Prior media-based internships and/or previous work experience in the broadcasting industry will also be taken into consideration when evaluating applicants. Juniors and seniors are preferred.


KFMB INTERACTIVE


KFMB Interactive’s internship program is designed for students interested in pursuing a career in online journalism and learning how a news website is created, updated and sold on a daily basis. Selected interns will learn how to update and edit stories for cbs8.com, as well edit and post video using a content management system. Candidates will assist the content manager and editors with daily news updates, as well as complete an individual project that will be determined during the course of the internship. Internship candidates must have an interest in online journalism and have completed some journalism classes. Juniors and seniors are preferred. Knowledge of content management systems and web writing experience a plus. Prior online or media based experience and/or internships will be taken into consideration when evaluating applicants. Candidates must be available 10-15 hours/week.


KFMB RADIO PROMOTIONS


Internships are available in Radio Promotions to help students gain work experience in radio promotions, including general administrative duties and the coordination of promotional events. Candidates must be able to drive themselves to/from remote locations and be able to lift 30-40 lbs. Internship hours are flexible but may involve weekends and holidays.


KFMB - AM


Internships are geared toward a better understanding of radio programming, including show preparation, production, call screening, and technical assistance during live broadcasts. Candidates must be available 10-15 hours/week. Previous experience in public or commercial radio is helpful.

Internships are unpaid and therefore interns must be enrolled in a college or university internship program that provides school credit in exchange for no pay. Candidates must be able to provide proof of credit prior to starting their assignment. If selected, candidates will be required to complete an "Intern Eligibility Form" and “Waiver of Liability Form” for KFMB Stations.
