28 ½ HOURS AT ON THE BORDER MISSION VALLEY TO BENEFIT THE SAN DIEGO FOOD BANK
San Diego, CA: San Diego’s #1 Alternative Station, FM 949 (KBZT FM) has completed another successful Can Diego canned food drive at On the Border Mexican Grill & Cantina in Mission Valley, benefitting the San Diego Food Bank.
“It’s all because of you San Diego. We put out the call, we set our goal, and you helped us crush it” said Steve Woods, one half of the Cantore + Woods morning show “Just because the holidays are over, doesn’t mean the need ends. We know we can always count on you to help fellow San Diegans, and you can through again. We love you.”
With help from On the Border, SeaWorld, the San Diego Zoo and San Diego Zoo Safari Park, UltraStar Mission Valley Cinemas at Hazard Center, the AMA Monster Energy Supercross, and the San Diego Scale Company, FM 949 jocks broadcast live from 5:30am-Midnight Thursday and again Friday morning from 5:30am-10:00am, while encouraging donations of non-perishable food items throughout the day and night at On the Border at 1770 Camino De La Reina.
“FM 949 is about San Diego. During the span of a few days that had some negative news for San Diegans, it’s great to know we did a lot of good for our friends and neighbors,” said KBZT Program Director and Entercom San Diego Operations Director Kevin Callahan “We are a part of this community, and we want to do whatever we can to give back. Thank you to everyone that came by On the Border Mission Valley.”
