Why so Quiet

Image
By Joe Nelson
Yes, it's true SanDiegoRadio has been quiet. I have one simple reason: It's because San Diego radio has been very quiet.

This lull is very normal. It comes and goes in waves. I'm OK with that. Why? Because I am not here to publish fluff, rumors or the like.

I have my finger on the pulse of SD radio, and my birdies are still pecking around.

I did take a break from the monthly Spotlights, but that is slated to return soon.

Please remember I also publish job postings as well as  resumes for folks looking for work.

Also coming soon, a producer is leaving a popular morning show and I had to throw out a HUGE congratulations to two iHeart jocks who have closed escrow on homes within the last week. 101 KGB's Clint August and his family are already moved into their new home in Santee. Steve Kramer from Channel 933 and his wife Shannon just closed escrow Monday on a home in Point Loma! Great news!

Andi Last Battles her 'Serpent'

Image
By Joe Nelson
My friend, radio's friend - Andi Last and her husband put together a music video showing the fight against a condition Andi was diagnosed with, Li-Fraumeni Syndrome.

Andi and Jay traveled several times to Borrego Springs to film at the massive metal sculptures of a serpent. That serpent represents Andi's condition.

The link is below and I'd like to thank KOGO's Marilyn Hyder for the story.

Marilyn Hyder Radio Reunion

By Joe Nelson
Saturday night, Marilyn Hyder hosted her annual 'Radio Reunion' at the Handlery Hotel in Mission Valley.

The crowd was easily one of the larger ones in many years. It was fun to watch old friends bounce around the room and talk to their contemporaries.

Here are some of the photos, the remainder are on the SanDiegoRadio Facebook page HERE

If you search the albums on that page you will find photos from reunions of years past.

Enjoy!
