We Have A Flip!

At the stroke of 3pm PT today, iHeartMedia San Diego will officially usher in the Memorial Day weekend festivities by flipping KSSX from Rhythmic AC to Rhythmic Top 40, rebranded as JAM'N 95.7, playing Today's Hip Hop and R&B. JAM'N 95.7 will be under the programming command of Rob Scorpio, who will retain his current duties as SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia Riverside, CA.

Scorpio has a long and successful history with the Hip Hop and Rhythmic formats, with a programming resume that includes KBXX (97.9 The Box)/Houston, KKBT (100.3 The Beat)/Los Angeles and WPGC/Washington. "We are fortunate to have Rob's level of expertise leading JAM'N 95.7," said John Peake, Regional SVP of Programming, iHeartMedia San Diego-Riverside. "He has incredible passion for the format and we're excited about not only the music changes he's implemented, but also the amazing talent lineup he has assembled."

Yes, let's talk about that amazing talent -- the new JAM'N 95.7 will be staffed with an all-star San Diego personality line-up -- the day kicks off with the welcome return of market faves Pablo Sato & Tati, who cemented their reputation back in the day at crosstown XHTZ (Z90), and they now return to San Diego after most recently co-hosting mornings on WPGC/Washington from 2013-2015.

Midday talent Mercedes "Cedes" Howard also returns to her hometown after a five-year run in nights at Entercom Rhythmic KQKS (KS107.5)/Denver.

That guy driving you home is none other than the famous Frankie V, who spent many years across the hall on KHTS (Channel 933). Frankie is now back in America's Finest City™ after his most recent stint as morning co-host on sister WJMN (JAM'N 94.5)/Boston.

Finishing off the day -- current KSSX night jock Beto Perez will roll from 7-midnight. The new JAM'N 95.7 will jam (get it?) with non-stop music right through Monday, May 30.
