Shelley Wade Moves to KMYI

STAR 94.1 FM WELCOMES SHELLEY WADE
AS NEW AFTERNOON HOST
San Diego, Ca. – May 23, 2016 – Star 94.1 FM (KMYI), San Diego’s Best Variety, announced today that Shelley Wade has been named its new afternoon host, broadcasting weekdays from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., and providing entertainment features and updates from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., effective May 31, 2016.
Shelley Wade is one of the country's top radio personalities. For the last 3 years, Shelley has been the midday host at iHeartMedia’s 95.7 KISS FM (KSSX) in San Diego and a weekend host on iHeartMedia’s 104.3 MYfm (KBIG) in Los Angeles. Prior to working in Southern California, Wade's voice was heard one of the most-listened-to top 40 stations in the world, Z100 New York, where she worked for 12 years. Shelley’s replacement for the midday slot on 95.7 KISS FM will be announced soon.

Wade's passion for radio began as a teen in her hometown of Houston, Texas. After working at her college radio station, her radio career progressed from KMJQ-FM and KBXX-FM in Houston to New York, where she landed the position of midday host at Z100. In addition to being a nationally-recognized radio personality, Wade is also a successful voice-over artist and television personality. She narrated a N.A.S.A. documentary that played before the United Nations and also voiced national television and radio commercials for superstar artists like Beyonce, Ke$ha, D’Angelo, Barry White, Missy Elliott, Lucinda Williams and many more. Wade is also a television personality with regular appearances on The Talk, and guest appearances as a music, entertainment and pop culture expert on: CNN, MSNBC, Access Hollywood, Inside Edition, BBC Liquid News and more. Her professional accolades include the A.I.R. Award for New York City’s Best Midday Personality, a feature in Marie Claire’s “It’s Time To Talk” campaign against domestic violence and receiving the T.O.R.C.H. Program's L.I.G.H.T. Award for her work mentoring high school students who aspire to have careers in the communications field. Wade's career highlights also include singing the National Anthem at a New York Knicks game in the world-famous Madison Square Garden.
