Jer Returns for 'San Diego Tonight'

By Joe Nelson

San Diego Tonight is coming this summer to KUSI TV.

Veteran radio personalities Jerry Cesak and Anita Rush are coming out of retirement!

'Jer', formerly of Jeff and Jer will team up with Showgram producer 'Little' Tommy and Anita Rush for "San Diego Tonight".

San Diego Tonight will tape on May 10 and premier June 3 on KUSI and will run on Friday nights throughout the Summer.

It will be taped in front of a live audience at the Lyceum Theater.

The template for the show will be similar to The Tonight Show, with Jer as the host, Anita as the booth announcer and Tommy handling the on-camera producing duties. The house band will be The Heroes.

Guests will be local as well as national celebrities.

While this is a new project and a new direction, this changes nothing about the radio show. I know Tommy is 100% dedicated to the show, now about to enter its 28th year.

SD tonight? Well this is just silly, the city already has a wonderful show called Tonight in San Diego. #latetotheparty .., you guys need a new name...and new city!

Gross. Tonight in San Diego already has passionate, talented people committed to showcasing America's Finest City, and literally without pay for the pride and effort involved. Please, do some research and support local arts before horning in on what looks easy.

Did you guys happen to see Tonight in San Diego and decide to make a parody?

What time on Friday nights? Have they decided yet? I'll watch it because these people are talented, and it's the talent that makes the show. I'll take a look at Tonight in San Diego, also. I looks like we have the duel of the San Diego shows. Personally, I think that can't hurt.

My parents are excited to catch the folks (Jer, and I forgot the other lady's name) who came out of retirement to host this 'San Diego Tonight' right after their favorite Prep pig skin report on Friday nights on KUSI. They should call it 'San Diego Last night', and by last night I mean the 90's. Best of luck with this.

As a 64 year resident of San Diego, and long time supporter of KUSI. I have to say KUSI should be ashamed. This is a rip off!

The nice folks at Tonight in San Diego put on a great show. They should be the ones on KUSI, not these jokers!

" to host this 'San Diego Tonight' right after their favorite Prep pig skin report on Friday nights on KUSI."

Prep Pigskin Report is watched by practically every teenager and their parents in town. It's a tremendously popular show.

WOW!! Way to be stand up citizens of our community by COMPLETELY RIPPING OFF the already established TONIGHT IN SAN DIEGO & their very hard working, passionate team. I've been a looooong time supporter of Jeff & Jer for years & years. This makes me sad & sick. You should be ashamed.
