Co-Host Named for Morton in the Morning
By Joe Nelson
CO-HOST NAMED FOR “MORTON IN THE MORNING” ON Z90
San Diego, CA (February 12, 2016) – The search for a co-host to join Rick Morton on “Morton in the Morning” on Z90 (XHRM-FM) has ended, with Edina Macic landing the job. Her first day on-air will be February 22.
Edina will move from the “Potato State,” where she spent five years as co-host on the “Wild 101” (KWYD-FM, Boise, ID) Morning Show, to the “Golden State” working alongside Rick Morton and producer D-Rock.
"I am thrilled to be heading to San Diego and having the opportunity to do what I love!” said Macic. “Having the chance to work with a successful industry veteran like (Z90 Program Director) R Dub, being a part of the family environment he has created at Local Media San Diego and reuniting with my good friend Rick Morton is really what you dream of in radio. I can’t wait to start!"
Edina left radio in early 2015 to work as a TV morning show news producer in Boise, but returns to radio because, “I missed that fun energy you only get from your favorite radio station.”
“We had the good fortune to meet with a handful of super talented people for this role, but Edina stood out,” said Program Director R Dub! “Her unique story, her different perspective on life, and the already amazing chemistry between her and Rick made Edina our obvious choice. What a great addition to Morton in the Morning and the Z90 brand and lifestyle.”
Z90 is owned by Local Media San Diego, LLC; a San Diego-based broadcasting company backed by private equity firm, Thoma Bravo, LLC. LMSD also operates Magic 92.5 (XHRM-FM) and 91X (XTRA-FM) as a member of SD Local, a joint operating arrangement between LMSD and Midwest Television, Inc., operators of KFM-BFM 100.7 (KFMB-FM) and AM 760 (KFMB-AM).
SanDiegoRadio is moving! In an effort to broaden my scope of work, SDR is relocating to a new page, under a new name. Best of all, it will be powered by Wordpress, that will allow me to do so much more.
My previous platform, this one, discontinued their mobile app a year ago and I have been severely hamstrung. I couldn't do anything if something happened while I was not near my laptop.
The future looks to be great and I am excited about the possibilities. For more on that, head on over to www.SDMediaSource.wordpress.com - It's LIVE now as a bit of a 'soft open'.
These last several years have been fun, I am excited to move forward!
Thanks for tuning in.... see you on the other side!

Those shows were then beamed up th…
