KFMB Stations Name Their President and GM

Midwest Television, Inc. Names Alberto Mier y Terán President and General Manager of the KFMB Stations
SAN DIEGO, California – January 19, 2016 – Midwest Television, Inc., parent company of CBS 8/KFMB-TV, Me-TV, AM 760 KFMB, 100.7 KFM-BFM and KFMB Interactive, announced the appointment of Alberto Mier y Terán as President and General Manager of the KFMB Stations, effective February 1. Mier y Terán returns to KFMB where he formerly held positions in local and regional sales nearly 20 years ago.

Throughout his career he has built strong relationships with his employees, advertising partners and the community," said Elisabeth Kimmel, President and Owner of Midwest Television, Inc. "His breadth of experience in strategic planning and overseeing multiple markets and media platforms will be an asset in his management of the KFMB Stations' television, digital and radio properties."
Mier y Terán's new appointment follows an impressive 16 year career with Entravision Communications and Univision Communications, Inc., where he most recently served as Executive Vice President of Univision Television Group from 2014 to 2015. Mier y Terán was responsible for operations, sales and strategic direction of Univision's media properties in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Bakersfield, Phoenix, Tucson and Houston. He's credited as an industry innovator, playing an integral role in Univision's success as a leading media company.
Previously, Mier y Terán held the position of Senior Vice President and General Manager at Univision's Los Angeles stations, KMEX-34 and KFTR-46 UniMás, from 2011 to 2014. Prior to his role in Los Angeles, Mier y Terán led station operations in Chicago as Vice President and General Manager of WGBO-66 Univision and WXFT-60 UniMás in 2010 and at KBNT-17 Univision and KDTF-36 Telefutura in San Diego from 2000 to 2010.

A community leader, Mier y Terán served as a board member of the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce and the Ad Council. While in Chicago, he served on the Board of Directors for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metroland Chicago. He also served on the Board of Directors for the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego, YMCA of San Diego, the Mayor's Science and Technology Commission and the San Diego Padres Baseball Club Board of Directors.
Mier y Terán holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in business communication from Augustana College. He enjoys traveling with wife, Amy, and their children, Alexandra and Lorenzo, along with playing drums, sports and listening to music.
