Dan Sileo and The Mighty 1090 Agree on an Extension

By Joe Nelson

Broadcast Company of the Americas is pleased to announce that they have extended their agreement with Mighty 1090 (XPRS-AM) morning drive host, Dan Sileo, through December 2017.
Sileo joined the Mighty 1090 lineup in February 2014 and since then has quadrupled AM drive ratings, making a significant impact at the station. He joined an already strong lineup consisting of Darren Smith, Scott Kaplan and Billy Ray Smith, and Jim Rome. Sileo rounded out this All Star lineup and helped contribute to the Mighty 1090 having the best ratings in station history.

In addition to Dan’s morning show responsibilities, he also has been part of the San Diego Padres Pregame Show for the 2015 baseball season.

Sileo is grateful and enthusiastic to continue his journey at Mighty 1090, he commented “I want to thank the folks at the Mighty 1090am, Mike Glickenhaus and Mike Shephard, and of course Executive Producer,  Joe Tutino,  for his guidance and helping me build our show here in San Diego into something I am very proud of. I am so thankful for the great folks in San Diego and Southern California for embracing me and my family here.  It’s a great honor to be part of the best sports talk lineup in the country for years to come, THANK YOU!"

BCA Programming / Operations Manager Mike Shepard commented “Dan has grown the Mighty 1090 morning audience significantly in the past year and half. He has immersed himself in the San Diego community and built a loyal audience that delivers results for our advertiser. I’m incredibly proud to have him leading off the Mighty 1090 broadcast every day and look forward to even greater success for Dan over the next two years!”

“Dan has done a masterful job of tapping into his contacts and connections across the country to bring a wide array of prominent guests and insightful interviews to the San Diego sports fan,” adds Mike Glickenhaus, BCA President & Market Manager. “His entertaining and fast paced style has really energized and engaged our multiplatform audience” continues Glickenhaus.

Broadcast Company of the Americas (BCA) operates The Mighty 1090 AM, 105.7 MAX-FM, and ESPN 1700 AM and holds the radio broadcast rights for the San Diego Padres, San Diego State Aztecs Football and Basketball and San Diego Gulls hockey.

Not only is Sileo a great morning show host, but he is a philanthropist and animal lover and added a segment each Friday to help place adoptable animals from our local shelters and rescues. He even provides each pet with a $50 gift certificate from PETCO....all his own doing. Thank you, Dan Sileo, for making San Diego a better place!

All Star lineup? These guys are like gossip columnists especially Darren. Since Darren defended the Pats for dancing on our field after their playoff win some years ago - I lost all respect for the guy. He's usually more interested in who somebodys girlfriend is or what color underwear they use. I have to wait until he is off until I can tune to that station.

Scott talks half the show about himself and I know way more about his kids little league teams, etc - than I ever want to or should.
