Local Media San Diego and KFMB Radio Stations Announce Joint Operating Agreement
SDLocal Partnership Preserves Local Platform for San Diego’s Top-Rated Stations

San Diego, October 5, 2015 –

Local Media San Diego, LLC and KFMB Stations, two leading digital and broadcast companies in the greater San Diego area, today announced a joint operating agreement that preserves local ownership and operation of San Diego’s top-rated radio stations. Magic 92.5, Z90, 91X, 100.7 Jack FM and AM 760 KFMB will now make up the largest local radio broadcasting platform in San Diego.

“We’re excited to finalize this agreement with the KFMB Stations’ radio group,” said Gregg Wolfson, vice president and general manager at Local Media San Diego. “With both organizations focused exclusively on the San Diego market, this partnership gives us the resources to deliver even more localized programming, events, contests and promotions to our advertising partners and the San Diego community.”

The newly formed partnership between Local Media San Diego, LLC and KFMB Stations will be called SDLocal and will reach approximately 1.5 million listeners in the San Diego area.

“Local, independent broadcast companies are facing increased pressure from national competitors, but they can’t rival our years of experience serving San Diego,” said Elisabeth Kimmel, owner and president of Midwest Television, licensee of the KFMB Stations. “I’m eager to put our combined experience and assets to work for our customers across the region.”

Who will be operating this new venture? Will it be KFMB's owners or LMSD? or will it be a joint effort? and any word on what happens with the TV station? Is it included in this JOA?

The TV station is not part of this deal. The LMSD management will be running this operation. Employees of each entity will remain their employees. There will still be separate facilities.
