There is a Rumble on the FM Dial

By Joe Nelson
Today SanDiegoRadio learned there could be a big change coming to a morning show in the very near future.
The FM dial has already seen a lot of change, most notably with Jeff and Jer's announcement of Jer's retirement less than two weeks ago.
It's my understanding that it's just a matter of crossing the T's and dotting the I's and it will be a done deal.
For legal reasons I cannot divulge more than this, but I have been assured SanDiegoRadio will have the scoop!

Have a great weekend, my radio friends, and thanks for tuning in!

-Joe

How are the morning ratings for The Show on Rock 1053? Hopefully no changes there.

Chio to join Geena at 93.3?

It must be Rick Rumble & John Murphy coming back to San Diego.

It also could be Kahuna Leibowitz to grunt and burp on KGB, moving from Hawaii.

After thinking about this and seeing this static 'rumble of morning change' ..'news' ... sit on the site for a week ..

I don't think it's fair to tease readers with this and leave it sit for this long ... PLUS make all of the morning show employees and their support people sweat out who is getting sacked and losing their job(s).

Joe I think you should NOT post such a 'tease' so far in advance and make good people sweat this out - and cause them look over their shoulder every time the booth door opens.

Thanks for considering this.

Hello Roger,
First off, thank you for reading. Yes, it has been on my mind as well. It has taken longer than i thought as well, and yes, I do have a heart, it bothers me too. As soon as this "hang up" clears, I still feel confident it will come to fruition.

I receive updates on this topic nearly daily so it's still very much alive. There are no jobs at stake or I would have been even more delicate.

There are many times I do receive news of someone who will be released. It's actually for respect for that person that I never post it. Not my style.

If anything else, this change will open doors for others!

I understand your stance and I am sensitive to it. You can trust me.

Thank you,
Joe

Thank YOU Joe!

Understand your original post did not state that jobs would or would not be lost ... but because of the way you posted it (lacking details of WHICH station), it makes those at stations NOT AFFECTED wonder if it IS them. It's always a tough call to 'print' 'news' that you can't fully disclose every detail on ... but maybe you should hold on to a 'story' until it't more 'public' because of the harm it might cause -- based on the details you withhold - over the facts that are known and minimally presented. :-)

Love your work Joe, thanks !

Roger

At least bury this story a bit down the page with some other REAL news if this isn't happening now.

If the big announcement is that Jer is leaving Jeff and Jer, I think you got scooped by your own website.

Roger and Jer in the morning?

Thankfully, dave sniff leaves KFMB before it enters KCBQ land

KPRI gone. Sold to K-Love/EMF. Everyone out.

Apparently Chris Cantore just tweeted that KPRI was bought by Christian Radio... Is this the rumbling?

And so the predicted dominoes will begin to fall... We Have a Radio Station Sale - http://www.sandiegoradio.org/2015/09/we-have-radio-station-sale.html

But is the KPRI sale the morning show change story or is it that El Gallo starts on Uniradio next week, broadcasting from this side of the border?

Was this tease ultimately in relation to the MAX FM story posted today (10/9)?
