Thanks to David Manzi for this:
Remembering Jack Woods, aka "Charlie," pictured left alongside radio partner Paul Menard, aka "Harrigan." Charlie and Harrigan teamed up in 1965 and quickly rose to the top of San Diego's radio ratings, eventually taking their show national but recording specialized clips for each market so as to make the program sound local on each station. More common now, I believe they were the first to do so. As an engineer friend who worked with them said, Jeff and Jer, Hudson and Bauer, DSC and all that followed, owe Charlie and Harrigan a debt of gratitude for setting the standard of morning team radio. Recently inducted into the National Radio Hall of Fame, they are the only representatives from San Diego radio. Jack Woods passed away last night following a recent stroke. He was 80 years-old.
