Stacy Taylor is Alive and Well

   A few weeks back, I received an email from a reader titled "Is Stacy Taylor Dead"
   I simply replied "Nope. Alive and well. He is taking a Social Media respite"
   I received another email yesterday asking if I 'was sure'.

Well, after contacting Taylor, here is proof that the former SD talk show host is just fine.

SanDiegoRadio will be dark for a week or two. My mom, Carol Nelson passed away last night. I need time to focus on my family and especially my dad, seeing he has everything he needs.

RIP Jack Woods

   Jack Woods, 'Charlie' of "Charlie and Harrigan" passed away last night. sends his family condolences on the loss of a great man, and a radio legend. More when it comes available. Jack recently suffered a stroke and was recovering.

Remembering Jack Woods, aka "Charlie," pictured left alongside radio partner Paul Menard, aka "Harrigan." Charlie and Harrigan teamed up in 1965 and quickly rose to the top of San Diego's radio ratings, eventually taking their show national but recording specialized clips for each market so as to make the program sound local on each station. More common now, I believe they were the first to do so. Lent bet details, from Clint:
Clint has to go 40 days without ice cream.
If he loses the bet he has to wear a g string and ride his Harley around San Diego during drive time traffic.

Nick has to go 40 days without coffee.
If he loses he has to wear a ballerina outfit on a busy downtown street corner for 30 minutes while twirling a sign.

Scott Kaplan Takes a Tour of Qualcomm Stadium

Scott Kaplan, one half of The Mighty 1090's "Scott and BR" toured the dilapidating Qualcomm Stadium, exposing the wear, tear, and aging of the nearly 50 year old structure.

   Kaplan walks the stadium with Jim Steeg, former Chargers COO, and current member of the Citizen's Stadium Advisory Group as Steeg points out the eyesores and potential problems not so easily seen on game day.

Energy 103.7 Names Night Host

Alexia Gloria joins CBS RADIO/SAN DIEGO’S ENERGY 103.7 (KEGY-FM) as their new night host (weekdays, 7p-Midnight), it was announced today by Chris Patyk, Program Director, KEGY-FM.  

“When we set out to find out our next night star, we wanted to find a personality that reflected the lifestyle of our listener.  Alexia lives the life,” said Patyk. “She’s passionate about music and has the drive to be number one. We’re so excited to have her as a part of our team!”

Most recently, Alexia worked part time on-air at San Diego’s XHTZ-FM. Prior to that she was the night personality at KWIN-FM in Stockton with stops in Salinas, CA at KDON-FM and KHOP-FM in Modesto.  

“I was that kid who would call a radio station in hopes to have them play my phone call on the air,” said Alexia. ”I would listen with my cassette ready to record it. Radio has always been my life and always will be because I LOVE RADIO.”
