FM 94/9's Can Diego Was A Huge Success Thanks To YOU!

San Diego, CA - Monday, December 15th, 2014FM 94/9  completed their annual Can Diego food drive, raising just under 7,000 pounds of food for the Jacobs and Cushman San Diego Food Bank on Thursday and Friday, December 11th and 12th.

The 28 and 1/2 hour event was hosted by morning show host Steve Woods, who broadcast his show both Thursday and Friday live from Dave and Buster's in Mission Valley and spend the entirety of the food drive at the Mission Valley hot spot, even spending stormed-filled Thursday night in a Big Box Storage unit on-site. "It's wonderful to see the city of San Diego come out and support such a great cause," said Woods "Having the chance to put on an event like this and help those who have less this time of year is incredible. I'm so proud of our city, our radio station and our amazing listeners for helping to crush last year's total of 5,000 pounds."

The annual food drive was supported by local businesses including Big Box Storage, Car2Go, Sea World, the San Diego Scale Company and the host site, Dave & Buster's in Mission Valley and benefited the Jacobs and Cushman San Diego Food Bank.

"At the end of the day, it's about what we can do for the city of San Diego," said FM 94/9 Program Director Kevin Callahan "We're always blown away but never surprised by the generosity and compassion of our listeners and we can't thank them enough for helping us raise nearly 7,000 pounds of food for families who really need it in San Diego."
